Weekly Photo Challenge: Details

In this week’s photo challenge Details, “discover the intimate details of something unexpected, and share your images with us”

I was captivated by the intricacy and details of carpets displayed in the Carpet Museum in Tehran. Some of the carpets could have been mistaken for a painting but they were threads finely and painstakingly woven into beautiful pieces of art.

  1. These are breathtaking details! 🙂 I remember someone from Tehran gifting a carpet when he visited us. Did you buy any? These are so beautifully done!

    1. Oh I wish I had bought the carpet! 🙂 It’s quite expensive. There are affordable ones available but the thought of counting their local currency notes (too many zeros) and to carry wads of cash (no credit card facilities) is enough to change my mind. Because of the US sanctions against Iran, all transactions had to be in cash and in their local currency. Now that they are gradually relaxing sanctions, I hope situation will change in the future.
