What Are Your Travel Plans for 2018?

*There’s a fun travel-related giveaway at the end of this post. Don’t forget to enter! [CLOSED] So, what are your travel plans for 2018? I should have asked this question in early January when most of us travel bloggers were writing our 2017 reviews and planning our 2018 trips. However, I have been busy with other priorities since the start of the year: establishing my content creation & consultancy business and catching up with outstanding blog posts from 2017 travels. So far, I have only made one trip for a few days at the end of January – Bangkok and

Best of 2017: Getting Out of Comfort Zone

Just before writing this post, I read my 2016 Review post again and I’m amazed how things evolved within this year. 2017 hasn’t been entirely hunky-dory though; there were ups and downs, and that’s LIFE. 2017 has been a year in which I moved out of my comfort zone to take risks and to accept challenges. 2016 was a year of learning the ropes of blogging. 2017 was continuing the same and learning the ropes of “making it on my own”. In November 2016, I made a crucial decision to quit my job in May 2017 to pursue full-time freelance

Happy New Year 2017!

Happy New Year everyone! I know I’m a tad late in publishing a New Year post but we are just two weeks into 2017, it’s still a new year 🙂 I have never written a New Year post before; this will be the first especially for my six-month old website. I have been blogging for three years but I had never bothered to write a New Year post in my previous website as I didn’t believe in New Year resolutions then. There were many resolutions about improving my fitness level and saving money years ago but all went out of

2016 Review: A Year of Travelling and Learning

2016 has been an amazing year of LEARNING. My trips are much reduced this year compared to a few years ago. I can assure you that my passion for travel has not diminished, not even an iota, but work circumstances have forced me to scale down the number of trips. As a result, I had to learn not to have FOMO on trips – Fear of Missing Out – but be selective in terms of when and where I wanted to go. During the times that I stayed put at home, I was busy learning…learning the ropes of blogging –

Why I Enjoy Travelling Solo

I have always travelled on my own. My solo adventures might have started during my university days in Australia. Although those trips were often with friends, I preferred the freedom to explore by myself. The solo trip which I recalled vividly was travelling from Adelaide (my residence then) to Alice Springs in the outback, all the way to Darwin in the north, after which, I flew to Cairns in Queensland, made my way solo down the east coast by bus to Byron Bay, and finally landed in Sydney. After resting in Sydney for a few days, I travelled by train for

The thought of printing so many pages (we have to save trees!) and bringing along these papers on your trip seems such a hassle, right? And more importantly, the last thing you want to deal with is data plan and

Weekly Photo Challenge: Details

In this week’s photo challenge Details, “discover the intimate details of something unexpected, and share your images with us” I was captivated by the intricacy and details of carpets displayed in the Carpet Museum in Tehran. Some of the carpets could have been mistaken for a painting but they were threads finely and painstakingly woven into beautiful pieces of art.  *Related Post:

Weekly Photo Challenge: Look Up

After a hiatus for sometime, I have come back to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge themes. This week’s theme is Look Up“all about taking a moment to check out what’s going above you”.  And that’s exactly what I did when I visited the Doi Suthep Temple in Chiang Mai. As I stood in the shade from the midday sun, I looked up and saw these cute little bells hung from the edge of the roof. *Related Post:
